Atlanta Beat Player Appearance Policy
Player appearances are an essential part of the Atlanta Beat’s community outreach efforts throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area. Part of our mission is to support those organizations that serve our community.
Additionally, players may be available for commercial appearances subject to availability and associated fee.
However, the demands of games, practices and travel makes the availability of our players and coaches
extremely limited. Please review the following guidelines to help us serve you better.
General Guidelines:
In general, appearances last no longer than 90 minutes and are granted only for events occurring within a 45
minute radius of the KSU Soccer Stadium (near Kennesaw and Marietta, GA), or within the greater metro
Atlanta area. Please consider driving time when submitting the request for an appearance. Distances outside of this may require a travel fee.Appearances should begin no earlier than 2:00 p.m. on training days, (training typically occurs Monday through Friday); no appearances will be allowed on game days, so please consult the Atlanta Beat’s schedule at www.theatlantabeat.com.An Atlanta Beat staff member, intern and/or volunteer will attend every scheduled Atlanta Beat appearance and will bring the appropriate items as needed (i.e., player cards, autograph pens, promotional items, banners) and will offer assistance when appropriate.
Player Assignments:
A player will be confirmed depending on player availability due to training, travel, Atlanta Beat games or national team games. The appearance may be canceled at the last minute on the rare occasion due to changes in the schedule. Please do not assume that there will be an injured or non-traveling player to fill in at the last minute.Appearances the night before a game will be limited to injured or suspended players only.Scheduling player appearances while the team is out of town are very difficult and may result in no players being available for your event. Please do not plan your event around a player appearance. Having a player at your event should be a compliment to your overall event.
NOTE: During the off-season (Sept – Feb) most players are out of the area and unavailable for appearances.
Appearance Fees:
Some appearances require appearance fees. The Community Relations Department will contact you if your event requires you to pay an appearance fee.
Request Procedure:
All appearance requests must be submitted via email at least six weeks in advance of the date of the event. No telephone calls will be accepted. If there is a publication deadline, requests must be submitted via email at least six weeks before the publication deadline. All requests must be submitted via email to Amanda Hammons, Manager of Community Programs ahammons@theatlantabeat.com.
All appearance requests for a player, coach and/or front office/management member must be directed to Community Relations. The Atlanta Beat will then review the request and make the appropriate decisions regarding the Beat’s participation. This Department will be the only department to book members of the Atlanta Beat organization for public appearances.Requests for specific players or coaches will be considered but never guaranteed. Applicants should not expect a specific player or coach to be able to attend their event. Atlanta Beat players share the responsibility of making appearances.
Review Criteria:
Appearance requests may be prioritized according to the following criteria:- Is the appearance for a worthwhile charity, organization and/or cause?
- Will the appearance attract media attention?
- Will the appearance help draw people to a game?
Processing: The Atlanta Beat will follow up in writing to all requests received. Please allow at least three weeks for processing.
The Atlanta Beat asks that telephone inquiries regarding appearance status not be made due to the high volume of requests received. All appearance decisions made by the Beat are final.
