A native of London, Asante has been a member of the English National Team since 2004, helping the Three Lionesses to the 2009 Cyprus Cup Championship. She also played every minute of four games for England in the 2007 FIFA World Cup. Prior to arriving in WPS, she spent 10 years with Arsenal before signing with Chelsea Ladies of the English Women’s Premier League in 2008. Among her club highlights in Europe include a stellar 2006-07 campaign that saw the Lady Gunners win the UEFA Women’s Cup, FA Women’s Cup, FA Women’s National Premier League Championship and FA Women’s Premier League Cup. Asante, who helped Sky Blue FC to a league championship in 2009, returned to the team this past offseason.

3. What's your perfect day off?

My perfect day off is chilling with my friends and making a trip to Froyo rounded off with great conversation and a ‘sick’ movie!

4. What famous person most inspires you?

Constance Briscoe because after reading her book it made me think anything is achievable no matter the obstacle or opportunity.

5. What was the most interesting and fun soccer trip and why?

? The 2007 WC in China was the most interesting and fun trip because I got to explore a whole new culture and play in front of huge crowds!

6. If you had a dinner party, who are the four people you would invite (can be living or dead)?

Alan Carr because he is incredibly funny, Beyonce just because this girl can sing!

7. If your parents were describing me, they'd say that...

I am the easiest child to parent out of the three of us! ha

10. What advice would you give to a young girl who dreams of playing in WPS one day?

If you really want it, be hungry for it. don't let anyone tell you it is not possible. Do what you want to do and have fun with it.
